Raising Love Episode 17

3 Powerful Ways to Raise Love Within Yourself Right Now

In this episode, I want to keep it short and sweet because I would love to give you 3 beautiful ways you can begin raising love within yourself right now.

In the last 15 episodes of the Raising Love podcast, I have talked a lot about you and your body. I have shared with you how I absolutely HATED myself and my body for most of my life.

And, that as women it is normal to be self-deprecating about ourselves and our bodies. And, if for some reason a woman should actually LOVE her body then there must be something wrong with her so we get our guard up and do whatever we can to make sure she comes back down to the unloving place we live in.

The place where she really belongs. Down in the dumps with the rest of us because it makes us feel safe and secure having others feeling shit about themselves just like we do.

But what if we all ended up in a beautiful place? A place that was full of love and affection for who we are and our bodies. A place where we built each other up as women and encouraged one another to feel good about every inch of ourselves.

Wouldn’t that be a wonderful place to live?

Listen in to know more.

About Raising Love

Raising love within yourself as only you can.

It’s time to raise ourselves up with love and discover who we truly are inside. Without all of the punishment, hurt and unworthiness driving us into despair.

Raising love involves all women whose bodies and minds are filled with hate, anger, frustration, self-loathing, sadness, loneliness. And whose bodies have been punished over the years because of how you have felt about yourself for way too long.

Because you are a woman who is smart, funny, kind, loving, mindful, caring, inspiring, powerful, strong, bold and passionate. You have dreams, ideas and feelings which should not be dismissed. By anyone. Especially you.

This podcast is for all of you beautiful women who have said “ENOUGH”.

Whoever you are right in this very moment. Wherever you have come from. Wherever you are headed.

It’s time to raise love within yourself.

More ways to Raise Love

Hi, I’m Kelly and welcome to the Raising Love podcast. Raising love within yourself as only you can.

Brought to you by LOVE body and the Positively You program.

So, in this episode I want to keep it short and sweet because I would love to give you 3 beautiful ways you can begin raising love within yourself right now.

In the last 15 episodes of the Raising Love podcast I have talked a lot about you and your body.

A place where we built each other up as woman and encouraged one another to feel good about every inch of ourselves.

Wouldn’t that be a wonderful place to live?

Who else is tired of feeling like shit about themselves? I know I am. I got to that place big time a couple of years ago. I slowly but surely began to realise that what I was feeling was not normal. It wasn’t how I, or anyone else, was supposed to feel.

The lies we have been fed. The rules that we are supposed to live by. All of it was weighing heavy on me.

I couldn’t bear the weight anymore. It was suffocating me.

I wanted to get it off of me. My usual ways of punishing myself with food was not working. Hating myself was not working. Trying to live up to someones else’s expectations was not working.

So, if none of that wasn’t working then what would work? How could I feel better about myself and my body?

What could I do to change how I felt about myself?

Well, that was the start. Just simply asking the question. Knowing that I WANTED to change was the first step.

So I set about finding the answers. It has taken a lots of time and effort to reach this place of love I now have for myself, which is why I want to share them with you and save you a little time.

But you HAVE to put in the work. Things will not change within you unless you make that decision to try. Try every day. Try every minute. Try every moment.

Because each moment is a new moment to begin again. To do it differently. To do it better.

And, there really are a gazillions things you can do to love your body right now. But these are the most powerful.

These are ones that will get you there faster.

So, here we go.

Number 1. Knowing you are enough.

This one is HUGE. It is the underlying belief most of us women have about ourselves. That we AREN’T enough. It infiltrates every thought, every behaviour, every decisions that we make for ourselves.

It decides to steer the car towards the drive through when you’re feeling shitty about yourself and your body, it decides to drink a bottle of wine because you feel that no one will ever love you, it decides to stop living life because your body is too disgusting to be seen out in public, it decides to sabotage all of the good things that come into your life because you feel you are not worthy of anything great.

Those feelings of not being enough lie deep within you. They are a strong held belief that you took as absolute truth somewhere along the way. And so your life welcomed in the evidence to prove your belief correct. Your energy vibrates at a low level of love and it sends this belief out into the world and brings you back confirmation that this notion is true.

So you believe it even more. “See. I told you.” But when the universe does its best to show you the real truth, the truth that is held even deeper than this belief, the truth your soul knows; well, you can’t trust it. There’s no way you are worthy of anything good so you dismiss it as a fluke, a weird stroke of luck that will never happen again, it’s a painful reminder that you are not allowed to have any good in this world.

You reject it like you reject yourself. We have a wonderful way of rejecting the good stuff and only noticing the bad. And, that’s not your fault. It is how your brain is wired. It kept us from being eaten when we lived out in the wild. We are naturally going to look for the danger first. We can’t change that part of who we are but what we can do is be aware of it.

Be conscious of what is actually going on and understand that there is something you can do about it. And that includes KNOWING that you ARE enough. Just as you are. Right now this very second. In all your shitty glory.

Your focus needs to change from noticing the negative to noticing the positive. Which I will talk more about in number 3 but for now it is essential you begin to realise that you, yes you, the you who woke up this morning hating herself, hating her thighs, hating her life, hating her job, wishing things were different, wishing she could just FEEL better; are amazing, beautiful, wonderful, fantastic.

But it’s not up to me to tell you that. You have to tell yourself that. You are allowed to tell yourself that. Don’t wait for anyone else to give you permission to feel good. Do not wait for anyone else to tell you how enough you are. YOU get to do that.

For every time your mother or your father or some other shitty person told you that you are not enough, tell them you are. Tell them, yell it to them. Scream it in their face. I AM ENOUGH.

Begin to FEEL it. But first know that it is more than ok for you to begin believing it.

I will tell you first. You ARE enough. Now go and tell yourself this every second of the day for the rest of your life.

Number 2. Forgiveness

Forgiveness is hard. Especially for yourself. Forgiving yourself for eating too much, forgiving yourself for drinking too much, forgiving yourself for not speaking up when you really wanted to, forgiving yourself for once again not being the person you believe you are supposed to be.

There’s always so much that needs your forgiveness.

Do you forgive yourself? Do you take a moment to tell yourself that it is ok. That you are ok.

It is important to do that, especially in those moments when you are hardest on yourself. And we can be hard on ourselves, can’t we ladies?

It comes back to feeling as though we are supposed to be self-deprecating all the time. About ourselves. About our bodies. About our lives.

It’s fucking exhausting. Aren’t you exhausted?

Use forgiveness to move through it. To release the hold self-deprecation has on you. Again, you are allowed to feel good. And forgiveness will help bring goodness back into your life.

Forgiveness has been proven to radically change how a person feels. It gets deep into your body and changes you in such a profound way.

You deserve your own forgiveness. CHOOSE to forgive instead of feeling guilty and punishing yourself.

Number 3. Appreciation. Or gratitude.

Another really profound way of raising love within yourself.

Appreciating yourself. Being grateful for what you have in the here and now. Knowing that what you have and what you are are always enough. They are always worth appreciating.

I can say with absolute certainty, appreciating what you have brings you so much closer to loving who you are and loving your life.

I honestly never appreciated anything in my life. Even all the great stuff that I had and all the great stuff I did.

I travelled the world, lived in amazing places, met some wonderful people, had so much fun but I never really took the time to realise what a fucking fantastic life I had. I was so stuck in my misery I couldn’t see what was right in front of my face.

And, this is something I need to forgive because I regret not BEING there more. Not knowing how good I had it. Not knowing how much I was actually given.

Life isn’t perfect. It never is. Life is life. We can either work with it or against it. And from past experience I can tell you working against it takes so much more effort than to work with it.

We are blessed to have the life we do. Appreciating it is also so much easier than despising it.

Again, this is our minds turning towards the negative to keep us safe. To keep us from venturing too far out into the unknown.

But there is a life waiting for you out there in the unknown. It’s scary but it can be so friggen exciting as well.

So appreciate and feel grateful for all of it. The known, the unknown. Appreciate what is yet to come. Appreciate what once was and appreciate what it is right now.

Your life has meaning. Your life has purpose. Understanding that you are not here by some random act of whatever. Your existence is meant to be.

Give yourself the joy of loving all that you are, of appreciating all that you have and being grateful for all that is waiting for you.

Your life begins inside you. It won’t come from any other place.

So, beautiful. What are you going to forgive, what are you going to appreciate and what will you do every day to prove to yourself that you are enough?
